My First Post

Welcome!

I am not good a completing projects. I have some grandiose idea and then take the first steps in implementing it, but then after a week or so, my interest peters out or I get another idea for another project. At this point I have at least a dozen or more large projects that are in various stages of completion. Few are actually done, which is not great. When it comes to building a portfolio and having work to show off my skills, incompleteness is a major problem.

I’m starting this website/blog to help rectify that. First, this will be a good place to organize and display all of my personal projects that are strewn across my computer’s directory. Second, blogging about what work I have been doing will hopefully encourage me to actually complete some of these projects. At least I can improve my writing and communication skills and have a record of what I was thinking or intending the last time I worked on the project.

While this post is just about housekeeping and not about my projects, I’ll write a follow up post about my most recently finished project: digitizing an 18th century map of the counties of Hungary.
