Overview
This project is a massive one. My goal is to digitize an ethnographic map of the Austrian Empire from 1855 by Karl Freiherr von Czoernig. This map is enormous! There’s a library in Bavaria that has the full copy of it, which comes in four sheets, and I was able to get them to send me a 300 dpi scan of the sheets. Each image is about 40 mb, which tells you had large and detailed they are. This is one of my largest projects I’ve ever worked on, so it’s going to take quite a while for me to complete. But I think it’s the one I’ll be most proud of when I’m done.
