Distractions and Routines

It’s going to take some time for me to develop a routine with writing posts. I usually want to wait until I’m done working for the day to write, but sometimes that’s way too late at night (like yesterday). As I move into the fall semester of school, I’ll figure out whether mornings or evenings are best for me, and then pick a time when I should have each blog post published by. Additionally, most of these posts are just updates on what I did, so my apologies for having bland titles.

Yesterday was more productive than the previous day. I had hope to finish putting Poland’s presidential results on Github, but I got distracted by my Natural Geography project, and worked on that most of the afternoon and evening. I did get the 2005 results up, so my hope for today is to finish with those results and then work on adding more projects to this site. The hardest part of adding more projects is figuring out the best way to organize and display them. Most of the time, I’m too lazy to maintain the barebones organizational structure I use on my computer, so there is a lot work I need to do to make them presentable for this site.

I’m also thinking of setting up some sort of donation/commission system so people can support me if they wish, or request maps or other work for me to make. I have to do some research in how to go about this, but I’ll let y’all know when I figure out a solution.

Finally, now that I have a website, I can start yet another project, this time about covering international politics and elections. I’m going to add another section that’s devoted to helping readers learn about the politics of various countries, including maps, resources, and data. As always, I have a large vision about where this will go, but I have to take the first steps in making it a reality.
